The appeal of a famous face has not worn off for the sector, but how do you decide who's in frame? Patrick McCurry investigates.

The furore over over Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand’s behaviour last October made the wrong kind of headlines for the charities that worked with them. For animal rights group Peta, it meant being ‘besieged’ by calls of complaint about Brand’s ultimately untimely appearance on its new Vegetarian Starter Kit.
